I’m particularly excited about this song (and album) as it’s the first installment of the most ambitious piece of work I’ve ever undertaken with Ill-Advised – and it’s the first album I’ve mixed and mastered myself!
Lisieux is a double album told in three parts inspired by my relative, St. Therese of Lisieux, and her posthumous autobiography “The Story of a Soul.” I’ve spoken somewhat about the details of this concept album on New Music Saturday – more will be revealed leading up to the release date.
“Wound” is the anti-dance, dance song – something you’d hear playing in a goth club at the end of the world. The cover art is taken from a sketch I manipulated through a variety of processes to complement the song’s lyrical themes of decay and warped perception.
